Longtime D&D Community Manager LaTia Jacquise recently revealed in a Bluesky post that she has been laid of by Wizards of the Coast. Jacquise had spent the past four years in the role and was well known for her numerous posts and facilitation on official channels such D&D Beyond and Discord. She was also one of the primary points of contact for the recently formed D&D Advisory Group.
As of this writing, it’s not clear whether Jacquise is the only individual to be laid off at Wizards of the Coast or if there are additional cuts coming. It’s also not entirely clear why she was laid off, with Jacquise noting only that “my role at wizards has been made redundant, and I have been laid off.”
Over the past year, Wizards of the Coast has hired a number of new staff members (including bringing on designer Celeste Conwitch just a few days ago). At the same time, the company has also sent some major departures, including veteran videographer Todd Kenreck and CEO John Hight.

Who is LaTia Jacquise?
LaTia Jacquise is a Chicago-based game designer, actual play star and veteran RPG marketer. She initially got her start with Wizards of the Coast in 2020 serving as a Community Manager for D&D Adventurer’s League. As a designer, she also contributed to the Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep supplement which was released in 2022. That same year, she took on the official role of Community Manager for all of Dungeons & Dragons.
Notably, Jacquise also starred in the popular Rivals of Waterdeep actual play series which was originally sponsored by Wizards of the Coast and ran for five years, fifteen seasons and 150 episodes. Jacquise joined the cast in February 2020 and played the character D’hani, an aarakocra monk, for eight seasons, later DMing several seasons before the show ended in 2023.
Jacquise is also currently a Community Review Board member for the nonprofit TakeThis.org, which focuses on decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and wellness in gaming.
Final Thoughts
It’s not clear why Jacquise was laid off by Wizards of the Coast or what comes next for her. Given her extensive experience as a designer and community manager, however, it’s likely she’ll continue to work within the TTRPG field.
